Rule:

Affirmative: Subject + V2 + Object

Interrogative: Did + Subject+ V1+ Object                 

Negation: Subject + did+ not + V1 + Object

 

Example:

Affirmative: He ran away

Interrogative: Did he run away?

                         (subject) (verb) (object)   

Negation: He did not run away.

              (subject) (verb) (object)   

 

EXAMPLES : SIMPLE PAST

  1. Affirmative: He went to the temple.
  2. Interrogative: Did he go to the temple?
  3. Negation: He did not go to the temple.
  4. Affirmative: You played chess.
  5. Interrogative: Did I play chess?
  6. Negation: You did not play chess.
  7. Affirmative: I typed very fast.
